And Around They Go…

Daiken Industries, a large Japanese worldwide manufacturer, has announced its purchase of Goodman Air Conditioning and Heating, a major U.S. HVAC manufacturer. This should be interesting, because Daiken is in fact a fairly high-quality Japanese company, and Japanese HVAC equipment has been of generally superior quality. Unlike Chinese manufacturers, Japanese companies tend to manufacture their USA-bound products in* the USA. This manufacturer’s bed-hopping is not uncommon. For example, Trane Inc. owns American Standard Heating & A/C, but American Standard originally bought Trane corporation and still owns them both. But last year Ingersol-Rand, an even larger American industrial manufacturer bought both American Standard and Trane. So the ownership keeps moving around, but fortunately, in both cases, the owners are high-quality manufacturers so we, as HVAC contractors, feel somewhat comfortable with these changes–at least as long as we don’t try to follow all those crazy corporate gyrations too closely. Please trust Air Control Heating, your personal HVAC contractor, to make sure the equipment we are providing you is of the highest quality. That’s our part of the job, and we take it seriously.
